VCA and AHS: Bringing Affordable Care to East Lake
VCA is committed to providing care to all pets. We’re excited about our partnership with the Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) to open a new veterinary clinic in late summer 2022.
Located in Atlanta’s East Lake community, it will provide accessible, needs-based, high-quality services to keep pets safe, healthy and home. Our donation will help support preventive care, select surgical procedures, dental health and primary sick pet services.
In order to increase exposure to veterinary medicine careers in underrepresented communities, we will offer an externship program at the clinic. The students in the program will be educated on the importance of delivering quality, affordable and accessible care as well as participating in the Atlanta Humane Shelter Medicine Program. They will also have the opportunity to help with AHS’s outreach initiatives, including community education events.
This is part of our steadfast commitment to hometown care, and it allows us to further support our nation’s most vulnerable pets.
